Terms of use

Jade Almanac is a publication about Chinese culture: characters and symbols, mythology, the zodiac, feng shui, and the traditional fortune arts. By using the site you agree to these terms. They exist mostly to make two things clear: what our content is for, and what it is not.

Cultural content, not advice

Everything on this site, including zodiac profiles, compatibility readings, feng shui guidance, and the calculators, presents traditions: systems that people built and refined over centuries, reported as faithfully as we can from the sources. It is offered for cultural interest and reflection. It is not a factual prediction about your life, and it is not medical, financial, legal, or professional advice of any kind.

• The gender predictor runs at roughly coin-flip accuracy, and we say so on the tool itself. Never make any decision about a pregnancy based on it; that is a conversation for your doctor.
• Zodiac, feng shui, and fortune content describes what the tradition says, not what will happen to you.

The paid Deep Reading

The Deep Reading is a personalized written reading of your Chinese birth chart, sold as a digital product and delivered at a private address on this site, usually within the hour. Everything above applies to it doubly: it is a cultural reading in the classical tradition, written for reflection and entertainment, and it is not medical, financial, legal, or professional advice. It will not tell you about health or how long a life runs, by design.

• The sale. Purchases are processed by Gumroad, our store: they run the checkout, charge your card, and handle sales tax. Their terms apply to the payment itself.
• Delivery. Your reading is written against your birth moment and your questionnaire answers after purchase. If we fail to deliver it, you get a full refund without asking twice.
• Refunds. If the reading does not feel like yours, write to us within 7 days of purchase: we will re-cast it once for free, and refund you in full if it still does not fit. Since it is a bespoke digital work, refunds after the 7-day window are at our discretion.
• What is included. The full written reading and three follow-up questions, answered on the same private page. The page is yours to keep reading; the text is for your personal use, not for republication or resale.

Accuracy

We work from primary sources and named translations, we cite where our claims come from, and we fix mistakes when readers point them out. Even so, we cannot promise the site is complete or error-free, and it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.

Tattoos and other permanent uses

We take real care to show correct, verifiable characters, and our pages flag common stencil errors. Still, a website is not a substitute for a second pair of eyes: before you put any character on your skin or anything else permanent, have it checked by a native reader. We are not responsible for how third parties reproduce what you bring them.

Using our content

The writing, artwork, and tools on Jade Almanac are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read, link, and quote with attribution. Downloads such as the symbols pack are for your personal use, not for resale or redistribution. Please do not scrape the site abusively, overload our endpoints, or present our work as your own.

Images

The artwork on this site is original, painted for the page it appears on, and © Jade Almanac. You may reproduce a single image with visible credit and a link back to that page. You may not sell it, print it on goods, redistribute it as a set, or use it to train a model. For anything else, including print and commercial use, write to hello@jadealmanac.com and we will tell you whether we can license it and on what terms.

Third-party links

We link out to sources, dictionaries, and books we cite. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jade Almanac and its author are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. The site is a cultural publication; decisions you make remain your own.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
