The budget is the recurring negotiation, and it deserves structure rather than victory. The Pig's giving rounds up in all categories, the Snake's instinct is to file appetites under review, and the fight, left raw, becomes generosity versus control, which both partners lose. The working arrangement is the one number: an abundance budget, set on a calm day, that the Pig gives and hosts from freely with no line-item audit, while everything above it takes both signatures. The Snake gets the perimeter it needs, the Pig gets the openhandedness it is, and the district's con artists, for the first time, get neither.

Professionally the pairing divides cleanly and profitably: the Pig front of house, the Snake back. In hospitality, medicine, family enterprise, any business whose product is other people's wellbeing, the Pig supplies the warmth that fills the room and the loyalty of everyone in it, while the Snake supplies the strategy, the contracts read to the last clause, and the long game that keeps the goodwill solvent. Two hazards need naming. The terminal pattern is the two security policies escalating each other. It usually starts with the Snake being right: the loan defaults, the friend was not one, the con arrives exactly as filed. Vindicated, the Snake extends the perimeter, more vetting, more vetoes, more of the household routed through review, and the Pig's world begins to shrink inside a fortress it never commissioned. The end has both signatures on it, the Snake closing the account with the finality it reserves for finished decisions, the Pig genuinely bewildered, having never once meant harm. None of this is destiny. The clash names a real conflict of policies, not of hearts, and the couples who beat it write the treaty early: one number for the abundance, one review for the big commitments, reasons attached to every veto, and one room of the vault standing open, permanently, to the only guest who never once tried the handle.
